Everything that makes upland hunting worth coming back to.

I started Chasing Cover because I've always been drawn to upland hunting—but somewhere along the way, I realized the birds were only part of the reason.

It's the anticipation when fall starts getting close. The dog somehow knowing before you do. Loading the truck in the dark. Gas-station coffee before sunrise. Walking miles of cover with your buddies, giving each other crap about the shots you should have made, and telling the same stories every year like nobody's heard them before.

It's hunting with your dad. Taking your kids. Watching a good dog work. Old traditions, new traditions, and the memories that stick with you long after you've forgotten how many birds you actually brought home.

That's what Chasing Cover is about.

There's already plenty of great hunting content that can tell you what shotgun to buy, how to train a bird dog, where to hunt, or what gear you need. We'll talk about some of that too. But I wanted Chasing Cover to be about something bigger—the culture and lifestyle surrounding upland hunting.

The funny stuff. The frustrating stuff. The nostalgia. The dogs. The friendships. The traditions. The places we hunt—and our responsibility to make sure they're still there for whoever comes next.

Some days we'll talk gear. Some days we'll talk dogs, habitat, hunting tactics, or getting ready for the season. And some days we'll make fun of the guy yelling “MARK!” when literally everyone standing there watched the bird go down.

Because that's upland hunting too.

Chasing Cover is for anyone who understands why we keep coming back. Whether you've chased birds your entire life or you're just discovering upland hunting, you're welcome here.

Because at the end of the day, success isn't always measured by how heavy the vest is on the walk back to the truck.

Sometimes it's measured by the stories you bring home.

It's not about trophies. It's everything that happens along the way.

Come along for the season

The birds don't always cooperate. The dogs don't always listen. The stories are still worth bringing home.
